Early Music Colorado is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Early Music by sponsoring educational programs and performances by Early Music ensembles. Use our Online Membership Form or Mail-in Form to join. Here are some of the events Early Music Colorado sponsors:

  • Fall Festival of Early Music at the Boulder Public Library. Features presentations, workshops, and recitals by both local performers and special guests.
  • Fall Festival Concert at St. John's Episcopal Church. In 2009 we brought in the internationally-known duo Asteria. In 2010, we will feature viruoso Baroque guitarist Richard Savino.
  • Soirées of Early Music offer members a venue for performing short programs in informal settings.
  • Monteverdi 2010. EMC joins with First United Methodist Church to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the publication of Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610 with a series of concerts.
  • In addition, the generous support of our members allows us to bring touring performers to the Front Range, often at short notice. We have been able to showcase the Texas group Istanpitta, Paris-based harpsichordist Jory Vinikour, London gamba virtuoso Alison Crum, England's Rose Consort of Viols, and internationally known duo Asteria. This is a tremendous achievement for an organization that relies on an all-volunteer staff and individual membership support. Won't you consider joining us to show your support for the arts and help us continue our work to bring Early Music education and performances to our community? No other arts organization in Colorado focuses on early music performance and educational experiences. And, no other arts organization does so much with so little! Our all-volunteer staff sees that every dollar directly benefits our community through our artistic and cultural programs. Your support will help us continue our other important programs:

    • EMC Concert Alerts - Our popular and rapidly growing email reminder service of local early music events, and it is free!
    • EMC Concert Calendar - A free community concert calendar for early music events available on the Calendar page.
    • EMC Master Classes & Workshops - Professional, student, and amateur musicians in our community have the opportunity to learn from the masters through Master Classes and Workshops.
    • EMC Website - The Internet is the most cost effective method to reach the most people in our community with current information about events and services.
    • EMC Quarterly - Our quarterly newsletter, delivered to your mailbox, is packed with information on current events, a concert calendar, and exciting articles about the music and artists we love.
    • EMC Artist Roster, Players List and Teacher Roster - This free referral service brings together early music artists/ensembles and presenters, teachers and students.
    • EMC Membership Directory - Looking to join with a music ensemble or just want to meet others with a similar interest? Our membership directory is a key resource for tapping into the early music community.

The EMC Board has revised our donation structure to reflect the ways we support YOU, our donor/members. In addition to receiving the Quarterly, you will get a discount on tickets to all our events, including Fall Festival concerts, and can be listed in our referral lists as performers, teachers, or amateurs in search of ensemble members. For a small fee, members may have an individual web page for themselves, or, with our new Organizational membership, for their ensemble.

NEW! Organizational membership-For a donation of $50 per year, your ensemble may now join EMC. Benefits include an EMC-hosted web page where you may post your season's concert schedule; referral service listing for the ensemble; your ensemble's name and logo listed on our concert programs; and free use of tools to help you with bulk mailing and ticket sales. We'll even link to your outside web site so that you can be found more easily.
